About Gabriel Ferrer
Gabriel was born in Mendoza, Argentina where he
played and coached until he immigrated to Florida in 1990. He worked for
Nick Bollettieri from 1990 until 1994 when he decided to work
independently. He then conducted his own Training Center at Cedars
Tennis on Longboat Key Florida and Directed the junior program for the
Manatee County Parks and Recreation. In November 2000 he was hired to
run the tennis program for Longwood Athletic Club in Sarasota Florida,
which he later purchased in 2003 and sold in 2007. Currently he directs
the following programs:
- Tapes Tennis (Afterschool Program) at King Middle School.
- Ferrer Tennis Academy (Jr. Competition Program) at King Middle School.
About Susan Ferrer
Susan
was born and raised in Indiana. In 2000 she moved to the
Sarasota Bradenton area and has been enjoying winters much more ever
since! After trying corporate America she decided to make a change and
have a career that she enjoyed and that would help others.
Susan
went to Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. Her father is also IU
Alumni. She majored in English and minored in Journalism. After living
in Sarasota for a few years she attended Sarasota School of Massage
Therapy where she graduated from in 2003.
Susan has been teaching young players for the the last 5 years and she co-directs TapesTennis with her husband, Gabriel
She has been teaching swim lessons for 6 years and is a certified Water Safety Instructor (WSI) with the Red Cross.
